Prof. Stella Perrone from IIS A. Castigliano in Asti will present a project addressing historical-geographical footpaths to promote Piedmont at the 8th edition of the Global Junior Challenge.
Besides bringing forgotten footpaths back to life, "Discovering hidden routes through augmented reality" is the perfect opportunity to experiment with augmented reality.
The object is to rediscover and describe forgotten “footpaths” with modern communication tools, so that they can be enjoyed by residents, tourists and cultural, economic and political operators to promote local development.
Following an initial phase dedicated to active citizenship, local studieas and art history, the students exercised their technical skills with augmented reality, developing logical thinking and discovered a conscious use of smartphones, the Internet and new technology.
